Pooja Ramchandani’s inspiring journey began in 2019 when she joined ELSH as a student placement from Northern College, eager to gain experience in education and community work. Her dedication and leadership soon saw her transition into a volunteer role, supporting students and engaging in community projects.With ELSH’s mentorship and a strong reference, Pooja successfully stood as a Labour Party candidate, winning her seat as Councillor for Kingstone Ward in 2023. ELSH also supported her campaign efforts, including door-knocking and community outreach, helping her connect with hundreds of local residents.Today, she champions education, integration, and opportunity across Barnsley — embodying ELSH’s mission in action.
