Salma Ahmed joined ELSH in 2021 with a veterinary degree from her home country, but faced barriers to employment due to limited English. Determined to improve, she enrolled in ELSH classes, building her language skills and confidence.

Her dedication led her to volunteer as a Conversation Assistant, bridging communication between Arabic and English speakers and creating a supportive, inclusive learning space.

With ELSH’s guidance and a strong reference, Salma secured a permanent full-time position at a local veterinary clinic — returning to her professional field and fulfilling her career aspirations.
